Editing
As a professional editor and bookbinder with more than twenty years of experience in both fields, I will guide you to greater clarity and uniqueness of style in your writing about bookbinding, book history, and the book arts.
As well as binders and book artists, I've worked with novelists, essayists, and poets, with professors and graduate students, with published and unpublished writers, with professional authors and those who simply seek to write a well-told tale. My clients have included native speakers of English, Spanish, and Slavic languages.
My editorial and writing credits include:
-
Guild of Book Workers Journal (editor 2009-2019)
-
Blooks: The Art of Books that Aren't by Mindell Dubansky, issued in conjunction with the Grolier Club exhibition
-
Essay on the work of the piscatorial binder S. A. Neff in the catalog for his traveling exhibition
-
The Bone Folder by Ernst Collin, translated by Peter Verheyen (first published in the GBW Journal)
-
Coauthored post at "In Circulation," the blog of the Thomas J. Watson Library, Metropolitan Museum of Art
-
Social Research: An International Quarterly, the journal of the New School for Social Research (managing editor since 1998)
